Opal Divine is jumping this weekend!

The lovely and talented Opal Divine is entered in a Dock Dogs event this weekend in Bivalve, MD. She is entered in two waves on Sunday morning with hopes of making the finals later in the day. This is only her 2nd event. The first one, last fall in Tuckerton, NJ, she won her heat, and eventually won her division with a jump of 20’4″. She can certainly get better if we get her practicing a little bit. We’ll see what happens! We are also stopping by Rehoboth Beach, DE on our way so Opal can get her first time of the ocean! Should be very cool.

In anticipation of her first jump of the year, here is a little video of her launching into Kline’s Dam in Carrolltown, PA.

Riverwinds Triathlon – April 29, 2012

Finished my first triathlon of the season. It was a short one. 200m pool swim, 10 mile bike with a 5K run. It takes place in and around the Riverwinds Community Center in West Deptford, NJ. Real nice place, but it is right on the Delaware River and you cannot avoid the wind! I ended up with a 1:04:05. I think that put my at 6th out of 47 in my new 40-44 age group.

The clock is a little off because the swim start is a time trial and that is the gun clock as opposed to my chip time.

It’s a nice event, it’s early in the year, so it is always a little chilly, especially with that wind.

Turkey Bowl IX – Recap

Well, it ended up being only 7 teams and inexplicably remained a 2 division round robin tournament. So one division only had to play two games to get into the championship while the other had to play three. Doesn’t make sense, but what can you do. Didn’t end up how who had hoped but we played tough, competitive football.
Ended up 1-2 on the day, losing to the eventual champion Foxburg and then in a meaningless game to the Youngbloods.
